Job summary

Specsavers in Romsey is offering an Apprenticeship to start a career in optics. You’ll work full-time for 15–18 months, earning £11.02 per hour, while learning your trade alongside an experienced team.

You’ll be supported to develop skills in customer care, eye tests, frame measurements and style advice, with on-the-job training and structured learning.

Located in the heart of the historic market town of Romsey, our Specsavers store is a well-established practice with a friendly, experienced team and a strong reputation for delivering outstanding customer care. Equipped with modern clinical technology, including OCT, and serving a diverse patient base, the store offers a supportive, community-focused environment where colleagues are encouraged to develop their skills and build rewarding careers.

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Optical Assistant.

Who is this Apprenticeship for?

• You have GCSEs in Maths at grades 9–4 (A*–C), or an equivalent qualification
• You’ve lived in the EU for at least 3 years and have the right to work in the UK
• You’re not currently enrolled in another government-funded course
