Job summary

SpaMedica in Swansea is seeking an Optical Assistant to join our Swansea cluster. This full-time role (37.5 hours per week) involves working across multiple sites, with 4 days out of 6 and shift times 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

Qualifications

• Proficient in the Medisoft database.
• Assist in clinics and diagnostics alongside optometrists.
• Assist in pre- and post-operative clinics.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in GPDR.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to clinical governance.
• Work with the optometrists in diagnostics and day-to-day clinics.
• Assist in the running of pre and post-operative clinics for all patients.
• Act as theatre runner, escort in busy theatre environment.
• Be proficient in company database i.e medisoft.
• Follow correct procedure for reporting any accidents or incidents.
• Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities, ensuring equipment is checked and ready for use.
• Ensure the correct storage of all equipment.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures.
• Assist with stock control, ensuring par levels are maintained and items are available.
• Manages all diagnostic and theatre equipment daily.
• To ensure patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with GPDR.

This role will be based within our Swansea cluster, which involves working across multiple sites.

Hours: Full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, working 4 days out of 6, from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM
