Job summary

Specsavers in Wigan, part of a larger UK optical chain, seeks an Optical Assistant to join our team. You’ll be the friendly face delivering great customer service while using your optical knowledge to support product choices.

Role requires some optical experience, a passion for the Specsavers brand, and strong teamwork. Regular weekend work and travel between spoke stores may be involved. Excellent development opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Current or previous optical experience as an Optical Advisor or Dispensing Assistant is preferred.
• Strong customer service, communication and teamwork skills.
• Confidence in using IT systems and adapting to new tools.

Responsibilities

• Be the friendly face in store and deliver excellent customer service.
• Support customers with optical product information and service needs.
• Assist with dispensing and maintain high standards of store presentation.

If you have current or previous optical experience as an Optical Advisor or Dispensing Assistant, this Optical Assistant role could be perfect for you.

As an Optical Assistant, you’ll use your passion for the Specsavers brand, products and services alongside your incredible customer service skills, to create an outstanding store environment for both our customers and our team.

Our Store

Our Wigan store is easily accessible from the M6 motorway and has excellent public transport links, making it ideal for commuting. There will be occasional travel between our spoke stores - Skelmersdale & Ashton-in-Makerfield required in this role.

What’s on offer?

• Full time: 40 hours per week over 5 days to include regular weekend working
• Part-time: 30 hours per week can be considered to include regular weekend working
• Salary: £26,500 - £29,500 (pro rata) DOE
• Team Bonus scheme
