We are looking for an experienced Optical Assistant to join our team in Egham for 5 days / 40 hours per week (Monday to Saturday 9am – 5:30pm).

Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists is an independent business that values local relationships and personalized service. We are equipped with the latest diagnostic and technological equipment in contact lenses, spectacle lenses, and frames.

As an Optical Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for clients, greeting them in person or over the phone, understanding their needs, and working closely with the team to provide excellent service throughout the client journey. You should have experience dispensing single focus, multi-focal, and contact lenses, and possess strong IT, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service.
2. Assist customers in selecting suitable frames, lenses, and optical products.
3. Dispense single focus, multi-focal, and contact lenses.
4. Schedule appointments and manage bookings.
5. Maintain product displays and store presentation.
6. Handle administrative tasks, including payments and orders.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in optical retail.

What We Offer:

We provide a supportive and engaging work environment, including participation in our Front of House Development course. This program covers client journey, contact lenses, eye anatomy, spectacle frames, and lenses. It includes workshops on optical screening equipment, basic repairs, and adjustments. You will also explore audiology and visit Zeiss Offices in Birmingham to learn about Zeiss lenses. The training concludes with hands-on practice under guidance, allowing you to apply your knowledge in a safe environment.
