Job summary

Specsavers in York and Vangarde stores is looking for a caring Optical Assistant to warmly welcome customers, help them choose frames and explain lenses. You will work across two busy store locations and join a supportive team alongside experienced Opticians and Technicians.

We offer extensive training and development, a salary up to £12.91 per hour depending on experience, full-time 40 hours or part-time options, and benefits including a birthday day off and WeCare helpline.

Qualifications

• Previous optical experience is preferred.
• Experience in fast-paced customer service environments is beneficial.
• Basic knowledge of optical and audiology terminology is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in selecting eyewear and explain lens options.
• Support Opticians and Technicians on the shop floor.
• Deliver high-quality customer service in a busy retail setting.
• Participate in training and development programs to advance your skills.
