Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an Ophthalmology Theatre Practitioner - Scrub / Anaesthetics. This 37.5-hour fixed-term post supports the Eye Unit Theatres during maternity cover, with on-call responsibilities and a commitment to a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous anaesthetic experience is essential; ophthalmology experience desirable but not essential.
• Registered professional with HCPC/NMC for RN or HCPC for ODP.
• Ability to support intraoperative perioperative care and handover.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a wide range of specialist equipment and drugs used in anaesthesia and ophthalmic blocks.
• Provide essential support between the surgical team and operating theatre.
• Prepare and transfer the patient to Recovery after intraoperative care.
