Job summary

Head Medical is seeking an experienced Scrub Practitioner (RN/ODP) to join a friendly theatre team at a well-established private hospital in the West of Scotland. This full-time, fixed-term post runs through to Christmas and supports a varied elective surgical programme.

The role involves high-quality scrub support across orthopaedics, general surgery and ophthalmology, working closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre staff to ensure safe practice and excellent patient experience.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC).
• Minimum of 2 years' post-registration theatre experience.
• Current scrub experience within an acute surgical environment.
• Ideally experienced in Orthopaedics, General Surgery and Ophthalmology.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A professional, patient-focused approach.
• Eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality scrub support across elective surgical procedures.
• Work closely with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre colleagues.
• Help maintain safe clinical practice and support theatre operations.
• Contribute to an excellent patient experience throughout the perioperative pathway.
