Job summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Specialty Doctor in Ophthalmology to deliver general ophthalmic services under the supervision of a consultant, including theatre sessions, eye casualty and general clinics, with involvement in triage of referrals.

You will participate in the 24-hour on-call rota, develop subspecialty interests, contribute to audits and research, and work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care and achievement of local and national targets.

Qualifications

• MBChB,MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
• FRCOphth or equivalent or studying for further exams.
• Completion of at least 4 years full time post grad training or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide general Ophthalmic services under supervision of a consultant ophthalmologist.
• Develop a subspecialty interest and complete clinical sessions in theatre, specialist and general clinics.
• Support eye department 24 hour on call for emergencies as part of non-resident on call rota; participate in triage of referrals; contribute to research and audit.
