Job summary

Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a General Ophthalmology clinician to provide services across theatre, eye casualty and general clinics, under the supervision of a consultant ophthalmologist. The post-holder will develop a subspecialty interest, participate in theatre sessions, hold a 24-hour on-call roster, and engage in triage of referrals as well as research and audits.

Qualifications

• Provide general ophthalmology services under supervision of a consultant ophthalmologist.
• Develop interest in subspeciality area and complete clinical sessions in theatre, specialist and general clinics.
• Be involved in triage of referrals and support research and audit.
• Deliver clinical and quality targets and work within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide general ophthalmic services across theatre, eye casualty and general clinics.
• Support on call 24-hour emergency cover as part of the 1 in 8 rota.
• Divide duties between direct care and administrative/professional development tasks.
