Job summary

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Directorate Manager to lead operational management across the Ophthalmology Directorate in collaboration with the Clinical Director and Matron. You will work across organisational boundaries to support corporate objectives and deliver high quality care.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level or equivalent level of management experience.
• Significant acute operational management experience in a complex organization.
• General Management theory and practice, incl. quality, financial management, HR management and service/business development.
• First class interpersonal skills with ability to gain credibility with clinicians/managers.
• Desire to succeed and drive continuous improvement while upholding Trust values.

Responsibilities

• Advise the Clinical Director on compliance with governance, systems and processes.
• Manage communications within and between teams, including performance meetings.
• Support research and development aligned with Trust strategy and evidence-based practice.
• Coordinate administrative and managerial processes (complaints, incidents, safety alerts).
• Coordinate the Directorate performance management system and deliver monthly reports.
• Participate in committees and act on behalf of the CD with a corporate approach.
• Ensure service delivery coordination and performance across the Division and Trust.
