Stockport NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Main Theatre Manager (Band 7) for a 3‑month secondment at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport. The post leads the ophthalmology theatres and day case unit, ensuring high-quality care in line with best practice and trust standards.

The role includes managing budgets and workforce, supporting staff development, and implementing governance across peri-operative services.

Competenze

• Evidence of management experience and ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team.
• Substantial Band 6 or above perioperative theatre experience.
• Live mentorship or equivalent training relevant to role.
• NMC/HCPC registration and CPD demonstrated.

Mansioni

• Accountable for the quality of care in the theatre department.
• Act as a visible leader providing leadership and line management for operational staff.
• Plan, allocate and evaluate work on a day-to-day basis for teams and individuals.
• Participate in delivery of clinical work to remain competent and cover workload.
• Provide specialist knowledge to nursing and Allied Health Professional staff in the department.
• Promote a critical, analytical approach to patient care and ensure protocols are followed.
