Stockport Eye Centre is seeking an experienced ophthalmology leader for Band 8 Matron or Band 7 ward manager level, supported by a Band 6 deputy manager. The role focuses on service delivery, staff development, SOP creation, audits, and on-call involvement to drive service improvement.

The successful candidate will lead a capable team, empower staff to achieve excellence, and contribute to flexible, patient-centered care within the NHS framework.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience of working in an ophthalmology department/ward.
• Experience contributing to on-call rota.
• Ability to write SOPs, train staff, undertake audits and investigations, and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Provide day-to-day leadership of the ophthalmology team and service delivery.
