Job summary

Optical Express is seeking a Healthcare Assistant for its Manchester Bridgewater clinic. The role involves supporting laser eye and IOL theatres, pre-operative testing, patient care, and assisting the surgical team. Travel to other Optical Express surgery clinics is required with travel costs covered by the company.

You will work 40 hours per week in a fast-paced clinical environment, contributing to high-quality patient care, safety, and efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to absorb and convey highly technical information.
• Flexible with travel to other clinics on a regular basis.

Responsibilities

• Pre-operative testing and assisting during consent appointments.
• Discharging patients and updating medical records.
• Calibrating and loading lasers; ensuring safe operation.
• Coordinate patient flow and manage queries on the day of consent and surgery.
• Assist surgeon during consent and procedures; act as scrub assistant for LVC.
• Support end-of-day processes: update files, file records, and stock management.
