Job summary

Optegra is seeking a Scrub Nurse to join our ophthalmic surgical team in Birmingham. You will provide skilled clinical and technical assistance in the operating theatre and may assist with peri-operative and post-operative care within the surgical and refractive suites.

The role requires ophthalmology surgical theatre experience, NMC/ODP registration (no restrictions), and computer/IT skills. We offer funded training and a robust benefits package including private healthcare and generous leave.

Qualifications

• One year or more ophthalmology surgical theatre experience.
• Qualification in Ophthalmology or Peri operative care.
• Current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions.
• Computer and IT skills, e.g., good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Awareness of responsibilities in relation to NMC Professional Code of Conduct.
• Awareness of CQC standards and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Carry out full range of registered health care professional duties with planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Anticipate surgical team needs by providing appropriate instrumentation and equipment.
• Ensure correct disposal and decontamination of reusable surgical equipment.
• Complete documentation for traceability.
