Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for an Ophthalmic Technician to join the Eye Unit Diagnostic Hubs. The role involves working across sites in South Woodham Ferrers, Orsett, and hospitals in Chelmsford, with travel across sites and a genuine emphasis on developing diagnostic skills for glaucoma and retinal cases.

The post requires IT literacy, a caring nature, and willingness to learn, with full training provided. Driving licence is essential due to site travel.

Qualifications

• General education including English and Maths to GCSE level C/4 or above.
• UK Driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic support in the Eye Unit Diagnostic Hubs alongside medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
• Utilise technology including visual field tests, medical photography and imaging; full training is provided.
• Operate as part of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients.
