Job summary

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Ophthalmic Technician (Band 4) to help lead the Nelson Health Centre diagnostic hub and support a multi-disciplinary team. The role involves delivering high-quality ophthalmic care and developing care pathways for patients.

The post requires substantial ophthalmic technician experience, with responsibilities including minor ops assistance, intravitreal injections, and recording ocular measurements.

Qualifications

• MustHold ophthalmic knowledge and practical patient care experience.
• Foundation NVQ4 or Nursing Associate Degree is required.
• Experience with ophthalmic equipment and data interpretation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver clinical and therapeutic care within approved care pathways.
• Develop and evaluate individual care plans with MDT input.
• Assist in minor ops, injections and acute eye service treatments.
• Record ophthalmic vital signs and ensure patient comfort and safety.
