Job summary

Newmedica Leicester is recruiting an Ophthalmic Assistant to join our busy outpatient clinics. You will be the first point of contact for patients, delivering a welcoming and empathetic service while supporting pre-operative and post-operative processes.

In this role you will assist with diagnostics and theatre, learn to use patient record systems and diagnostic software, and communicate clearly to patients about tests and treatment options.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in patient-facing role advantageous.
• Knowledge of eye physiology and treatment.
• Competent user of Office 365 and comfortable with new systems such as patient record systems or diagnostic programmes.
• Excellent grasp of the English language both verbally and in written format.
• Experience handling patient records, GP and diagnostic data.
• Team player – happy to jump in and support others when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pre-operative and post-operative processes.
• Provide support in diagnostics and theatre.
• Use a range of clinic equipment and systems.
• Explain the purpose of tests to patients to aid understanding.
