Job summary

Newmedica in Whiteley is seeking an Ophthalmic Clinic Assistant to join our team. You will be the first point of contact for patients, guiding them through diagnostic tests and ensuring a welcoming, supportive experience.

The role involves 37.5 hours over 4 days per week, including weekends on a rota. You’ll use Office 365 and patient record systems, explain test purposes to patients, and support clinicians as you grow in clinical areas.

Qualifications

• Training provided; experience isn’t always required.
• Customer-facing experience is advantageous.
• Knowledge of eye physiology or interest to learn more.
• Proficient with Office 365 and able to use new systems.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and guide them through diagnostic tests.
• Operate diagnostic equipment and record results accurately.
• Explain the purpose of tests and treatments to patients.
• Support clinicians and other team members in daily clinic activities.
• Maintain and handle patient records and data.
