National Grid is seeking an Operator to join the team based at Gloucester. You’ll perform routine inspection, maintenance and repair of tools and PPE, assist stores maintenance and inspect network assets as needed. Training will be provided.
You must hold English and Maths GCSEs or an equivalent qualification and evidence will be requested prior to appointment. The role requires mobility around the depot area and may demand DBS checks; sponsorship is generally not provided.

The working environment requires quick, decisive and responsible actions to meet the demands of the role. You will need to be flexible in your approach to assist the team in meeting its objectives.
Being able to control a Fork Lift Truck would be an advantage but not essential. You will be able to work under your own initiative, in a safety critical environment. Support will be provided to obtain any missing requirements that the successful candidate will be expected to obtain. You will need to be mobile throughout the area and stores/innovatory background would be advantageous. Operationally we require you to live within approximately 40 minutes of the depot you are applying for. National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues and customers. This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service, (DBS) check, depending on the role different levels of screening and vetting are required. Some roles require a triannual check.
