Job summary

Welland Operations is seeking an experienced plant operator to provide operation support at the Birmingham Bio Power Energy Recovery Facility. You will supervise fuel unloading, load plant systems, perform basic maintenance, and contribute to a safe, clean plant as part of a three-person shift team.

The role requires flexibility, teamwork and the ability to work a 365-day, 24/7 shift pattern. Prior experience with FEL/telehandler/forklift is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and experience as a plant operator would be advantageous but not essential.
• Strong appreciation of quality, health, safety, and environmental matters is essential.
• Flexible attitude and a strong team working approach are essential.
• Mobile plant operator experience with a current recognised license for FEL/telehandler/forklift would be advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vehicle receptions and banksman duties.
• Unloading, loading and storage operations of fuel.
• Undertake fuel weighing and sampling and record results.
• Operate machines—FEL (front end loader), telehandler and forklift.
• First line maintenance of machines including greasing and PPM checks.
• Follow SOPs and maintain clean, safe plant condition.
• Comply with health, safety and environmental policies and legislation.
• Provide shift cover for other operators as needed.
• Work within a 365 day, 24/7 shift rota.

Job description

Performance and compliance with key policies/procedures including healthand safety.

Role & Responsibilities

• Undertake fuelweighing and sampling duties including the recording of results
• Machine operations– FEL (front end loader), telehandler and forklift
• First linemaintenance of machines including greasing and PPM checks
• Enact and adhere tooperational standard operating procedures (SOP’s)
• Maintaining aclean, safe, and orderly plant condition to the prescribed standard
• To understand andcomply with all health, safety, and environmental policies and legislation
• Provide shift coverfor other operators in the event of sickness, annual leave or training
• Work as part of a365 day, 24/7, shift rota

Required skills and qualifications
