Job summary

Tarmac is seeking an Operative at the Packed Products plant in Northwich. You will report to the Site Manager and undertake site duties safely across raw materials, storage, production, dispatch and housekeeping.

Based at Northwich Packed Products plant, this role is easily commutable from surrounding areas. The ideal candidate has proven experience in production and despatch environments, good communication and numeracy, and a strong team spirit with manual handling experience.

• Proven experience in production and despatch environments.
• Good communication skills and numeracy.
• Team player with manual handling experience; FLT licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily production target requirements.
• Report data for quality purposes.
• Move, load and unload product from the plant and vehicles.
• Meet customer service requirements with accurate loading and timely vehicle turnaround.
• Drive continuous improvement of performance standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of plant and production methods.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping.

We are currently looking for an Operative at our Packed Products plant in Northwich. As the successful Operative, you will report to the Site Manager and will be responsible for undertaking all site duties safely, understanding CRH and SHE safety . You will also work across different areas including raw materials, storage, production, dispatch and housekeeping .

Main Responsibilities

On a day‑to‑day basis, duties and responsibilities of the Operative will include (not exhaustive):

• Meeting daily production target requirements
• Reporting data for quality purposes
• Moving, loading and unloading product from the plant and vehicles
• Meeting customer service requirements in terms of accurate loading and timely vehicle turnaround
• Driving continuous improvement of performance standards
• Contributing to continuous improvement of plant and production methods
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping

The Ideal Candidate

As our ideal Operative, you will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within a similar production and despatch environment .

You will also:

• Possess good communication skills and be numerate
• Be a proficient communicator
• Be a strong team player
• Have experience of manual handling
• Hold an FLT licence (desirable)

This role is based at our Northwich Packed Products plant, which is easily commutable from the surrounding areas.
