Job summary

Veolia is recruiting at Seafield, Edinburgh for a maintenance-focused role. Salary is £36,475.55 per annum, 37 hours weekly, Mon-Thurs 07:30-15:30 and Fri 07:30-15:00, located at Seafield WWTW, Edinburgh.

You will optimise and maintain processes and assets and perform on-site sampling with strong safety discipline. You will work with contractors, provide technical feedback, and participate in standby duties, while using CMMS to document activities.

Qualifications

  • Experience in optimizing wastewater processes and assets to ensure operational performance and compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills for on-site issues and system reliability.
  • Full driving licence is required for site duties.

Responsibilities

  • Optimise and maintain all processes and assets across AVSE sites, including planned preventative and corrective maintenance, work orders, and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct on-site sampling and analysis, report to Supervisor on site operations and compliance, and maintain accurate data in computerized maintenance management systems
  • Maintain highest health and safety standards, respond to alarms and adverse developments, manage site security at Seafield, and ensure proper use of Permit to Work systems
  • Manage and cooperate with contractors, provide technical assistance to site teams, and participate actively in team work and problem-solving activities
  • Provide technical feedback to senior teams for capital interventions, maintain up-to-date asset information, and ensure timely completion of associated documentation
  • Participate in standby rota to respond to emergencies and support maintenance technician duties as required

What you'll be doing:

What we're looking for:
Essential
  • The ability to optimise operational plant to ensure optimum performance, contractual and regulatory compliance
  • Skills/Expertise in running and maintaining Wastewater processes and assets or similar.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Full driving license required
Desirable
  • Excellent knowledge of all areas, sites and processes within the AVSE contract scope.
  • Practical knowledge of Google packages, experience of computerized maintenance management package(s).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good commercial awareness.
  • Health and Safety awareness/qualifications.
  • Confined space qualification for medium risk entries.
  • Competence in the issuing and use of all company permit to work systems
  • Risk assessment and method statement training
