Job summary

Millbrook Healthcare is seeking an Operations Team Leader - Driver for our West Sussex Community Equipment Service Centre in Littlehampton. You will lead Driver Technicians, blend hands-on delivery work with leadership, and help ensure a high-quality, compliant, and customer-focused service.

You will oversee delivery, installation, repair, collection and maintenance of equipment in people’s homes and other sites, coaching your team to meet Millbrook Healthcare's standards and SLAs across West

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an operational, logistics, or delivery-based leadership role.
• Knowledge of stock control and logistics.
• Experience of work scheduling and planning.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence (min 2 years) with no more than 6 points.
• Good IT literacy and confidence using operational systems.
• Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Act as a role model for Driver Technicians and provide on-the-job coaching and guidance.
• Oversee the fleet in West Sussex, owning maintenance schedules and weekly vehicle checks.
• Hold driver check-ins, assess customer interaction and driving standards.
• Ensure a full daily debrief for all driver technicians.
• Close orders from the previous day and run daily/weekly reports to support this.
• Work with Warehouse and Customer Services to meet SLAs and support team briefs.

Job description

We are currently looking for an Operations Team Leader - Driver to join the team at our West Sussex Community Equipment Service Centre based in Littlehampton. You'll be leading and supporting a team of Driver Technicians, combining hands-on delivery work with day-to-day leadership, to help us deliver a high-quality, compliant, and customer-focused healthcare equipment service.

As Operations Team Leader - Driver, you'll oversee the delivery, installation, repair, collection and maintenance of community healthcare equipment within people's homes and associated locations such as care homes, hospitals and schools across West Sussex, while coaching and guiding a team of Driver Technicians to consistently meet Millbrook Healthcare's standards.

Millbrook Healthcare Group works in partnership with the NHS to supply the necessary equipment and aids to support people in their day-to-day life. Our community equipment ranges from simple walking frames and crutches to more complex equipment such as beds, hoists and pressure care equipment. We also carry out minor adaptations such as the installation of handrails and grab rails within the home, which can make a significant impact in giving people the confidence to live more independently.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a role model for Driver Technicians, promoting Millbrook Healthcare values and best practice, and provide on-the-job coaching, guidance and support to delivery teams
• Overseeing our fleet in West Sussex - owning the maintenance schedule and ensuring weekly vehicle checks are carried out
• You'll hold check-ins with drivers and assess customer interaction and driving standards
• Ensure a full daily debrief for all driver technicians
• Closing of orders - ensuring all orders from the previous day are completed and closed correctly; you'll run daily/weekly reports to support with this
• Working closely with the Warehouse and Customer Services teams to ensure SLAs are met
• Support the Operations Manager at weekly team briefs
• Assist with team scheduling, route planning, and workload distribution
• Act as first point of escalation for driver technician related operational issues, service user concerns, and technician queries
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations, manual handling practices, infection control, and safeguarding policies
• Support induction and training of new drivers, with eventual competency sign-off

• Proven experience in an operational, logistics, or delivery-based leadership role, including experience managing or supervising field-based teams
• Knowledge of stock control and logistics
• You'll have experience of work scheduling and planning
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are essential
• You must hold a full UK driving licence (minimum 2 years) with no more than 6 points
• Good IT literacy and confidence using operational systems
• Strong understanding of health & safety and compliance requirements

£32,000

• 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
