Job summary

Orion Electrotech Ltd. is recruiting an Operations & Supply Chain Manager to lead day-to-day site operations and drive improvements across production, fulfilment and support functions.

You will balance hands-on delivery with strategic development, coordinating with engineering and R&D on prototype and NPI projects while strengthening supplier performance and cost control.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on operations management experience in a fast-paced electro-mechanical or similar assembly manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience improving processes, performance and KPIs.
• Experience managing and developing operational teams.
• Supply chain, supplier and procurement experience.
• Understanding of supplier agreements and key supply contract terms.
• Good understanding of BOMs, component costs and production scheduling.
• Experience supporting R&D/NPI environments.
• Electronics/component supply chain experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of day-to-day operations, including production, fulfilment, returns and fault diagnosis
• Driving continuous improvement, simplifying processes and improving operational efficiency
• Managing operational planning, resources, KPIs and workflows
• Leading and developing the operations team, including responsibility for stock control
• Overseeing R&D inventory and stock management
• Working closely with engineering and R&D to support prototype, NPI and development projects
• Identifying opportunities to improve the cost and commercial viability of components moving from prototype into production
• Managing both inhouse and outsourced manufacturing relationships
• Strengthening supplier performance and securing continuity of supply
• Managing preferred suppliers and negotiating supplier contracts, pricing and commercial terms
• Understanding BOM structures and identifying cost-reduction opportunities
• Working across a global supply chain, with exposure to electronics/component suppliers particularly useful

Are you looking for an Operations Management role with an overview of Supply Chain, in a company where you can genuinely take ownership and make changes?

We’re looking for a proactive Operations & Supply Chain Manager to join a pioneering design and manufacturing organisation with a new, highly innovative product range as they continue to grow.

This is not a purely strategic management role. Initially, you’ll be very hands‑on, taking ownership of the day-to‑day operation, identifying what isn’t working, simplifying processes and putting the right structure and controls in place.

You’ll need to be equally comfortable getting involved in today’s operational challenge as you are stepping back and being more strategically focussed.

As the operation develops, so will the role, giving you the opportunity to become increasingly involved in strategic improvement, R&D and new project activities.

What will you be doing?

To succeed in this key role:

You'll ideally come from a manufacturing, engineering, electronics, hardware or technology-led environment and be someone who enjoys taking ownership rather than simply maintaining existing processes.

You’ll ideally have:
