Job description

The Role:

MGC Developments Ltd is a family run business based in Warminster, that offers a variety of

construction services to customers across the South West of the UK. Ranging from general maintenance, groundworks, plumbing and minor civils to full scale property renovations or bespoke commercial projects.

We are looking for a new member to join our growing team to provide support to the Head of

Operations and field teams, to ensure the smooth day to day running of construction

projects.

Main day to day duties will include:

• Manage and assist with the preparation of sites, including pricing / ordering of plant and materials for the works.

• Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to ensure effective resource allocation, job prioritisation, and workforce coordination.

• Supervise day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is carried out to high standards of quality and safety.

• Coordinate and communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers, and site staff.

• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and legal requirements.

• Compile / prepare all documentation (construction programme and RAMs) and ensure working methods have been agreed, are appropriate and safe and any

change is communicated.

• Perform and oversee physical tasks including but not limited to basic timber shuttering, concreting, drainage, digging and other general maintenance and

construction duties.

• Where required or necessary operate heavy machinery in conjunction with NPORs training e.g. diggers/dumpers.

• Ensure the whole team maintains a safe and tidy working environment.

• Utilise Company communication platforms such as email, workplace, Forums etc

• Deliver Site Inductions, Toolbox talks, safety bulletins, etc.

• Lead on all aspects of health, safety and welfare.

• Ensure the whole team follows the Company Management System, including but not

limited to risk assessments, method statements, construction phase plans etc.

• Provide timely and accurate submission of timesheets

• Participate in gang performance reviews

What do I need?

To really hit the ground running, the ideal candidate will have proven experience of managing multiple teams within a construction environment, with a strong background in utilities, concrete works and general groundworks. Have a good understanding of the Microsoft Office 365 package (desirable but not essential) and confidence in communicating via different platforms. Be able to act on own initiative, particularly in respect to Health & Safety and reporting of relevant matters with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

The following qualifications/tickets are also required:

• Minimum SSSTS or SMSTS

• NPORs tickets

• First aid

• NRSWA

• Confined spaces

• Supervisor CSCS Card

• Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations

• Driving licence ideally with towing experience.

Additional training may be carried out as required for the role.
