Job summary

Culina Group Limited in Rugby is the UK’s leading independent specialist supply chain partner. We’re seeking an Operations Supervisor to manage day-to-day depot operations, assets, resources and facilities, and to support the Operations Manager in driving efficiency and cost control.

The role is Monday–Friday, 07:00–17:00, with a salary up to £29,741 depending on experience. You will lead shifts, coach staff, maintain databases, coordinate maintenance, and assist in payroll planning while

Qualifications

• Proven track record of leading and motivating a diverse team.
• Excellent communication skills, energetic leadership style and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Previous experience in a similar transport-related role is essential, with CPC National Qualification preferred and knowledge of EU Hours and Tachograph rules.
• PC literate with knowledge of Excel spreadsheets.
• 1 year of experience in transport operations.

Responsibilities

• Actively demonstrate leadership in day-to-day shifts, coaching staff.
• Maintain internal databases and coordinate with Fleet Department on defects.
• Administer vehicle and trailer maintenance programs.
• Complete depot daily checks and record on central system.
• Direct contact with drivers on daily performance and improvement actions.
• Support Operations Manager with payroll planning and depot staffing.
• Ensure personnel files are up to date with licenses and training.
• Coordinate recruitment and training of employees.
• Assist in accident investigations and follow-up.
• Complete daily risk assessments of yard and office.
• Identify maintenance/repair issues and inform Operations Manager.
• Provide information for weekly KPI reports.

Life in this role

As part of our, Transport Logistics division , we have an exciting opportunity to join the team as an Operations Supervisor .

Salary: Up to £29,741 per annum, depending on experience

Shift: Monday-Friday, 07:00-17:00

Manage the day-to-day operation of our consumer site. You will be supporting the Operational Management of the depot in maintaining and managing the assets, resources and facilities to maximise both cost efficiencies.

Key Duties of an Operations Supervisor:

• Actively demonstrating leadership qualities in the day to day running of shifts encouraging and coaching all staff
• Maintaining internal databases and where applicable, following up all defects with the Fleet Department
• Administering the vehicle and trailer maintenance program
• Completing all depot daily checks during shift and recording on the central system, (including trailers, returns, re-books, pallets)
• Direct contact with driver’s on daily performance and improvement actions
• Providing information and supporting the Operation’s Manager to enable the planning and management of depot payroll
• Ensuring all personnel files are up to date incorporating license validation, personal details and completed training
• Co-ordinating the recruitment and training of employees
• Assisting in accident investigation and follow up
• Completing daily risk assessments of the yard and office
• Identifying and informing the Operations Manager of any maintenance and repair issues in the site
• Providing information to the Senior Operation’s Supervisor & Transport Manager so that weekly KPI reports can be completed

Qualifications

What you’ll need ...

• As an Operations Supervisor you will demonstrate a successful track record of leading and motivating a diverse team to achieve common goals.
• We are looking for a supervisor with excellent communication skills, energetic leadership style and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Previous experience working within a similar transport related role is essential, and you will have agood working knowledge of EU Hours, Working Time Directives and Tachograph legislation preferably with CPC National Qualification.
• PC literate, with knowledge of Excel spreadsheets
• Ability to work on their own initiative
• Willingness to resolve issues
• 1 years’ experience in transport operations
