Job summary

Pickfords Move Management Limited is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join a motivated team. Pickfords is a national removals and storage specialist offering full relocation services for homes and businesses.

The role provides job security and clear progression with training for non-drivers and full PPE provided. Based around Military bases, the position does not involve lone working and aligns with a Monday to Friday schedule.

Qualifications

• CPC certification required for operating commercial vehicles.
• Driving licence (Category C1) required.
• PAT Testing certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and Weekly scheduling and resource planning against forecasts.
• Daily operation of vehicles and staff to meet customer requirements.
• Daily stores operation including stock control, ordering and reporting.
• Maintain operational and administrative processes within the system.
• Produce daily job sheets and ensure end-of-day handover.
• Liaise with customers and planners on schedules and matters.
• As part of management, share ownership for contract performance.
• Review training needs with each team member and hold quarterly meetings.

No weekends or shift work - Monday to Friday only.

Job Purpose

The day-to-day management of performance to meet operational, service and administrative KPI's. The management and motivation of subordinate staff to ensure a high level of quality and efficiency is maintained. To deliver a high-quality service within budget.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and Weekly scheduling and resource planning against anticipated forecasts.
• Daily operation of vehicles and staff in a cost-effective manner to ensure optimum resource utilisation to meet customer requirements.
• Daily operation of stores including stock control, ordering and reporting, inventory management.
• Maintain operational and administrative processes within the system.
• Produce daily job sheets, ensure all sheets are handed in at end of day.
• Liaise with customers and cell planners on schedules and operational matters as appropriate.
• As a member of the management team, take collective responsibility with other managers for the overall performance of the contract, as defined by the director.
• Review training needs through a minimum of one appraisal meeting with each member of the team per annum and quarterly department meetings.
