Job summary

Pickfords are looking for an Operations Supervisor to join a motivated team. The role is based around military bases, with Monday to Friday working and no weekends, offering job security and progression.

Training for non-drivers, as well as providing uniform and PPE, is provided. The day-to-day responsibilities include scheduling, vehicle and staff operations, stock control, and KPI management to deliver a high-quality service within budget.

Qualifications

• CPC qualification required.
• Category C1 driving licence mandatory.
• PAT testing certification preferred.
• Strong people management and leadership skills.
• IT literacy essential.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and Weekly scheduling and resource planning against anticipated forecasts.
• Daily operation of vehicles and staff in a cost-effective manner to ensure optimum resource utilisation.
• Daily operation of stores including stock control, ordering and reporting, inventory management.
• Maintain operational and administrative processes within the system.
• Produce daily job sheets, ensure all sheets are handed in at end of day.
• Liaise with customers and cell planners on schedules and operational matters as appropriate.
• As a member of the management team, take collective responsibility with other managers for the overall performance of the contract, as defined by the director.
• Review training needs through a minimum of one appraisal meeting with each member of the team per annum and quarterly department meetings.
