Job summary

Monzo is seeking an Operations Strategy & Commercial Lead for a 12-month fixed-term period to shape and evolve the Operations strategy as the team scales. The role sits at the intersection of performance insight, finance and strategic execution, driving value across priorities, investments and delivery.

You’ll translate complex strategy into clear actions, partnering across Operations, Product, Engineering and Finance to ensure high-impact work progresses and outcomes land as intended.

Qualifications

• Experience in strategy, commercial, transformation or business operations in fast-moving environments.
• Track record of solving complex problems with analytical rigour and bias to action.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to use financial insight for decisions.
• Experience with P&L analysis, business cases and investment questions.
• Excellent written communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Shape and evolve the Operations strategy to align priorities, trade-offs and investments with customer outcomes.
• Drive commercial visibility and performance management including P&L monitoring and identifying opportunities to improve unit economics.
• Translate strategy and progress into clear recommendations for senior leaders.
• Partner with Operations, Product, Engineering and Finance to connect strategy to delivery.
• Own the Operations Roadmap with progress, risks and decisions; adjust plans to improve pace and impact.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve scalability, efficiency and profitability.
