Job summary

Arm in Bristol seeks an Operations Manager (SC Cleared) for a 6-month contract. The role requires active SC clearance and ideally MOD experience.

The contractor will develop and execute an acquisition strategy, manage procurement, budgets, schedules, and ensure safety and compliance across firing trials and associated activities. The position is advertised at up to 650 per day (Umbrella/Inside IR35) with a hybrid work pattern—up to 3 days per week in Bristol—and demands strong stakeholder

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an acquisition strategy aligned with Approval requirements.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
• Oversee planning and execution of tactical development firing trials, ensuring safety and compliance.
• Manage the procurement of equipment and services required for the project.
• Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring financial accountability and cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and timelines.
• Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure the timely delivery of equipment and resources.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and safety standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage contracts with suppliers, ensuring adherence to terms and performance standards.
• Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of documentation for Approval.
• Monitor and report on project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
• Address and resolve any issues or delays impacting project timelines.
• Ensure quality assurance and control measures are in place for all deliverables.
• Support the development of training and operational procedures for end-users.
• Manage and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the project.
• Coordinate with legal and procurement teams to ensure contract compliance.
• Oversee the integration of new systems or equipment into existing infrastructure.
• Conduct post-trial evaluations and implement lessons learned for future projects.
