Transcomm Recruitment seeks a Road Freight Operations Manager to lead a team of road freight clerks in West London, optimise operations, and drive commercial performance across UK and European corridors.

You will manage end-to-end road freight activities, ensure regulatory compliance, monitor KPIs, and develop client relationships while contributing to pricing and margin optimisation. The role also involves training and motivating staff to achieve growth.

A major UK & International freight forwarding company is looking for a road Freight Manager to manage a number of road freight clerks, to provide training, management and motivation on a daily basis. Must have managed a road freight team previously, have P&L experience, leading and growing commercial performance.

The Road Freight Operations Manager is responsible for leading, optimising, and growing all aspects of UK and European road freight operations, while also driving commercial performance. The role combines operational excellence with strong commercial strategyensuring efficient, compliant transport of goods while maximising profitability, developing new business opportunities, building client relationships, and negotiating competitive supplier partnerships. The position plays a central role in delivering high-quality service, operational efficiency, and sustainable commercial growth.

• Oversee end-to-end road freight operations including import, export, full loads, part loads, and groupage services.
• Ensure compliance with UK and international road transport regulations and customs procedures.
• Monitor and analyse KPIs to enhance service quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.
• Manage operational problem-solving to ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Road freight operations management experience is required for this role, can be either import or export. Must have managed, trained and motivated a Road freight team. Ideally possess Cargowise experience or knowledge. Also Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L, pricing, and margin optimisation
