Job summary

Dudley Council is recruiting Strategic Operational Leads to shape the future of our Housing and Property services across the borough. These senior roles oversee critical safety, compliance and operational delivery for residential and non-residential properties.

Successful candidates will report to the Associate Director Acquisitions, Compliance & Maintenance, lead a large multidisciplinary team, and work flexibly with hybrid arrangements to ensure statutory responsibilities are met and services

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety and compliance across Council properties (residential and non-residential).
• Cover fire, electrical, asbestos, gas, water and lift safety responsibilities.
• Manage building safety statutory duties and CDM compliance.
• Oversee health and safety compliance and risk management (including HHSRS).
• Handle maintenance-related health and safety risk management.

About The Roles

The Housing and Property Team is recruiting Operations Managers to support the delivery of several key functions.

These are senior operational service leadership roles, operating across statutory services and areas that are high-profile, politically sensitive and emotive. Some services operate outside normal office hours, so successful candidates must be prepared to work flexibly when required.

Successful postholders will report to the Associate Director Acquisitions, Compliance & Maintenance and will provide oversight across a number of related service areas.

The Operations Manager for Property Safety & Compliance will oversee a large multidisciplinary team responsible for the safety and compliance of the Council's residential and non-residential properties, including:

• Fire, electrical, asbestos, gas, water and lift safety
• Building safety statutory responsibilities
• Construction safety and CDM compliance
• Health and safety compliance
• Health and safety risk management, including HHSRS
• Maintenance-related health and safety risk management
