Operations Manager – Leading Main Contractor (Social Housing Refurbishment) Based in Hertfordshire | Projects Across London

We’re working with a privately owned, fast-growing main contractor specialising in planned refurbishments within the social housing sector – delivering high-quality internal and external refurbishments, SHDF-funded retrofit decarbonisation, and cladding/fire remediation projects across London.

Following a recent major rebrand and a pipeline of secured long-term frameworks, our client is entering a transformational growth phase, set to double in size over the next three years. The Role

As Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Construction Director and take overall responsibility for project delivery teams across multiple frameworks and workstreams. You’ll lead a team of five experienced Contracts Managers, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of works in occupied homes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support Contracts Managers across multiple refurbishment and retrofit projects
• Oversee project performance, safety, quality, and client satisfaction
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders
• Support strategic growth and contribute to business planning alongside the senior leadership team
• Drive a positive site culture and promote company values across all levels

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven experience in a senior operations role within the social housing or refurbishment sector
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Track record of delivering retrofit, refurbishment or fire remediation projects in London
• Commercially aware, contractually competent and client-facing
• A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
