Job summary

King & Moffatt Building Services is seeking an experienced Operations Leader to oversee day-to-day M&E project delivery across sectors, ensuring on-time, within-budget performance and top quality standards.

You will lead Project Managers and engineers, develop operational strategies, manage client and stakeholder relationships, and drive safety, compliance and financial performance across multi-site projects in the UK.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years’ experience in M&E project delivery, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record in senior operations leadership within the M&E or building services sector.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, project delivery, and construction processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Commercial acumen with experience in budget management and P&L responsibility.
• Familiarity with UK building regulations, CDM, and health & safety standards.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and teams across different regions.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning: Develop and execute operational strategies aligned with business objectives, drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and profitability.
• Team Management: Lead and mentor Project Managers, Engineers, and support staff, foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, represent the company in high-level meetings and negotiations.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure adherence to health & safety regulations, quality standards, and industry codes, oversee audits and implement corrective actions where necessary.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, identify opportunities for cost savings and margin improvement.
