Job summary

Kingsley Healthcare in the UK operates a family-run care home network focused on compassionate, high-quality care. As an Operations Manager you will ensure regulatory compliance, oversee delivering high-standard care and environment for residents, and drive financial and business objectives.

You will provide strong leadership, mentoring to managers, and align operations with Kingsley values. Reports to Regional Operations Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience managing operations in a care home or healthcare setting.
• Strong financial management and regulatory knowledge.

• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership and management, including recruiting for key roles and training staff.
• Monitor and manage financial and business performance, including budgeting, reporting and development initiatives.
• Ensure homes comply with laws, regulations and industry standards; implement action plans to manage risks.
• Maintain and enhance the quality of care and environment for residents; monitor care delivery and outcomes.
• Build and maintain relationships with residents, families, staff and external stakeholders; address issues promptly.
• Implement performance monitoring and reporting systems and prepare regular reports for senior management and regional operations director.
• Identify training needs for managers and provide ongoing mentoring to senior staff.

About the role

As an Operations Manager, you will be ensuring that the care homes are compliant with regulatory requirements, delivering high-quality care and environment for residents, and achieving financial and business objectives. As well as, providing strong leadership, support, and mentoring that will be instrumental in driving the success of the homes and aligning its operations with the Kingsley vision and values.

Reports to: Regional Operations Manager/ Operations Direct

Key duties and responsibilities

• Provide effective leadership and management, including the appropriate people are recruited for the key roles and ensure they are trained to complete their role. Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that aligns with Kingsley's vision and values.
• Monitor and manage the financial and business performance of the homes, including budgeting, financial reporting, and business development. Identify areas of improvement and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.
• Ensure that the homes are compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Implement Action plans to maintain compliance and manage risks.
• Maintain and enhance the quality of care and environment provided to residents. Monitor and evaluate care delivery processes and outcomes, and implement improvements as needed. Ensure that the care home provides a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment for residents.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, to ensure effective communication and collaboration. Address and resolve any concerns or issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
• Implement performance monitoring and reporting systems to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and outcomes. Prepare regular reports for senior management and regional operations director.
• Identify training needs for the managers to enhance their skills and knowledge. Provide ongoing support and mentoring to senior staff to ensure continuous improvement in their performance.

Skills and attributes

• Proven experience in managing operations in a care home or similar healthcare setting
• Excellent people management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to deliver exceptional service
• Strong knowledge of financial management, compliance, and regulatory requirements in the care home industry
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Ability to analyse data and make informed decisions to achieve business objectives
• Knowledge of best practices in quality care and environment for elderly residents
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Hold a full UK driving licence

Education and qualification

NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience, desirable but not essential.
