Job summary

Saab UK is seeking an Operations Manager for Bedford to drive governance, compliance, trials and business coordination across the BlueBear initiative. You will push process standardisation, track KPIs and support continuous improvement within Saab UK's Bedfordshire operations.

The role requires strong leadership, risk management, and familiarity with ISO standards; National Security Vetting to SC level or ability to obtain it is required. Based on site in Bedfordshire, UK.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership skills and ability to drive change.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
• Experience implementing risk management and business continuity.
• Experience with Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001.
• ISO 27001 desirable; awareness of export control, health & safety, environmental management desirable.
• Defence industry experience and UK MOD desirable.
• National Security Vetting clearance to SC level or ability to gain.

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement across the organisation.
• Standardise processes and ensure compliance with the quality management system.
• Coordinate export control, health & safety, and security compliance.
• Develop and track KPIs to support the Strategic Business Plan.
• Capture customer feedback and communicate success; track changes.
• Communicate Operational Excellence across the organisation.
• Coordinate internal and external audit activity.
• Act as Risk and Opportunity Co-ordinator and lead business continuity activities.
• Coordinate compliance activity and ensure resources are in place.
• Implement new compliance standards and business tools.
• Capture internal feedback to drive improvements.
• Deliver internal training on continuous improvement/operational excellence.
• Champion information management within BlueBear.
• Support internal project activity and manage the Facility Coordinator.
