Job summary

MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit an Operations Manager for a leading Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) in Nottingham. You will oversee day-to-day operation, provide visible leadership across the site and lead Shift Team Leaders and operational teams to deliver safe, compliant and high-performing operations.

The role requires extensive people management experience, knowledge of power generation or energy recovery industries, and a HND-level qualification (or equivalent) with

Qualifications

• Extensive people management experience within a large operational department or region at a senior level.
• Experience implementing and embedding corporate management systems.
• Strong knowledge of power generation, energy recovery or related industries.
• Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.
• HND level qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline, plus a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Provide visible leadership across the site and lead Shift Team Leaders & operational teams.
• Champion a safety-first culture and drive employee engagement.
• Oversee day-to-day operation of the facility, monitor KPIs and identify improvements.
• Enhance efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness across operations.
• Develop and motivate your team, creating an environment where people can thrive.
• Other duties as required.
