ABP Food Group UK is seeking a production-focused role at its Penston site in Glasgow. You will manage retail production, ensuring orders are produced to specifications, on time and within cost targets, while driving efficiencies across the operation.

The role requires strong leadership of the production team, commitment to quality and hygiene, and adherence to health and safety standards. ABP offers training, development opportunities and a range of employee benefits.

• Manage retail production to meet defined specifications, timescales and targets while minimising costs and maximising efficiency.
• Maintain high quality and hygiene standards across the site with 5S or similar practices.
• Develop and performance-manage the production team to optimise output and quality.
• Drive operational excellence (OpEx) within the department and support the site as required.
• Communicate clearly and liaise with customers and ABP Penston group on production matters.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety rules and staff training requirements.

Role Definition:

The post holder will be responsible for managing retail production, ensuring customer orders are produced in accordance with defined specifications, timescales and targets, in a way that minimises costs and maximises efficiencies.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for meeting stringent production targets and for the integrity of the production process, while minimising unit costs and achieving Yields giveaways and OEE.
• Maintaining high quality and hygiene standards throughout the site, while implementing best practise 5S initiatives
• Accountable for the team's development and performance in relation to output, efficiency and quality
• Responsible to drive OpEx through the department and assist site where required
• Clear, concise and accurate communication
• Liaise with customers and group on all matters, resolving problems for the benefit of ABP Penston
• Responsible for the housekeeping and the state of the machinery within the factory
• Ensure agreed throughput targets are met
• Attendance at meetings where required
• Adhere to company hygiene practices & safe food production
• To formulate policy to ensure effective adherence on all matters concerning health and safety and ensure all staff have a thorough understanding of what is required with respect to health and safety.
• To comply with health & safety rules, to prevent / minimise the risk of accidents
• To participate in training, in accordance with your personal training plan
• To ensure all staff are trained in line with the company best practice policy and individual training needs are regularly monitored and met
• Carry out any additional duties that may be reasonably requested by the manager.
