Job description

We're looking for an Operations Manager to lead daily operations of two West Yorkshire primary academies: Co-op Academy Beckfield and Co-op Academy Smithies Moor.

The School Operations Manager will, with support from the central team, oversee the daily operational functions across two primary school sites, including premises management, health and safety management, operational management and administrative support. The role supports the school leadership teams to ensure all systems and resources are in place for effective teaching and learning.

Why us?

At our academies we inspire our children to become confident, independent and engaged learners. Everything we do is to provide our children with the best start in life and encourage them to take pride in their achievements. Both Beckfield and Smithies Moor serve special communities where partnerships between children, their parents and school are at the heart of everything we do. We want everyone to be recognised and celebrated through the curriculum as well as through pastoral activities. Our children, families and staff are caring, respectful and responsible.

At Beckfield and Smithies Moor, we are passionate about providing every child with the skills they need for lifelong learning. We believe that school life should give our children the ambition to be the best they can be and go on to achieve incredible things long after they have left us. Learning is fun, purposeful and challenging!

Being a colleague as part of Co-op Academies Trust, you will have opportunities for continuous professional development and career progression, working in a creative and innovative environment where new ideas are encouraged and have the chance to make meaningful impact on the lives of children and help shape their educational journey.

All our values are based upon the values of the Co-op Group, which will inform our behaviours.

Self-help: We do not expect to be spoon fed – we will try to do things for ourselves in the right way and at the right time.

Self-responsibility: Everyone should act in a responsible way around the academy site and in the local community. We take responsibility for our own learning; we want to become independent learners.

Equality: We are proud to be part of a very multicultural academy, with students from all over the world; it is important that we treat each other with respect and accept that others may be different from ourselves. We should all of us have equal chances to succeed.

Equity: We want to look for the best in each other. Rewarding others fairly to encourage all types of achievement.

Democracy: We will contribute our ideas to make the academy a success.

Solidarity: We can achieve more by working together, rather than as individuals.

Our Values

Being part of the Co-operative Group, we are both guided and driven by the Co-op values which are embedded in everything that we do within our academies - We strive to demonstrate the following ethical values in everything we do - they are our ‘Ways of Being’:

Succeed together

Do what matters most

Be yourself, always

Show you care

So, if you believe in our values, we would love to hear from you!

We offer a wide range of benefits and rewards to recognise the part you play in our success:

Benefits include:

  • Onsite parking at both sites
  • Access to discounted gym membership
  • Access to a credit union
  • Annual Trust Recognition Event
  • Extensive programme of continuous professional development and networking channels
  • Plus, in the summer of 2027, Smithies Moor will open their new school building so you can be a part of our new chapter!
