Job description

Operations Manager – Do you have strong leadership experience in a production or workshop environment? Are you driven with the business acumen to propel our company forward? If so, join our team as their Operations Manager, based in Lowestoft, Suffolk on a full-time permanent basis.

About the role:

As Operations Manager, you will support the Managing Director in leading our team to ensure all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards. You will focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency, maintaining excellent customer satisfaction. The role involves working 5 days a week from 7:30am to 5pm.

Main duties and responsibilities:
  1. Plan, schedule, and oversee manufacturing and repair workflows to ensure timely delivery of products meeting customer specifications.
  2. Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety regulations and conducting routine inspections.
  3. Supervise and develop workshop technicians, managing staff deployment, workshop space, equipment, and materials to optimise operations and reduce waste.
  4. Ensure high standards of service across all business areas, taking ownership of production, repair, and warehouse processes, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  5. Monitor departmental spending and implement cost control initiatives without compromising quality.
  6. Provide hands-on support and technical guidance to resolve workshop issues, staying updated on industry trends.
About you:

You should have a strong background in operational leadership within a production or workshop environment. As Operations Manager, you will demonstrate adaptability and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. Essential skills include strong leadership and team development, understanding of engineering processes, project management, and Lean management. A proactive problem-solving approach, excellent organisational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, familiarity with Health and Safety regulations, and experience with ERP systems are also required. Ideally, you will hold a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
