Job summary

Jobtailor in Manchester seeks an experienced operational leader to drive performance across depots and manage engineering, transport, workshop and administrative teams. You will own regional administration, including contracts, invoicing, documentation and reporting.

You will lead planning, performance management and continuous improvement to meet service levels and profitability while developing depot talent through coaching and structured reviews.

Qualifications

• Experienced operational leader who has managed complex engineering, logistics or hire operations.
• Strong leadership experience managing multiple operational departments.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to improve profitability.
• Experience managing operational KPIs.
• Strong people management and coaching ability.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• Confidence making decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Experience within Generator Hire, Temporary Power, Plant Hire or associated industries is highly desirable but not essential.
• Transferable experience from engineering, fleet, logistics, industrial services or technical service environments welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational performance of depots across the assigned region.

• Ensure equipment leaving the depot meets company quality standards.
• Lead customer escalations and operational reviews.
• Drive continuous improvement across operational processes.
• Work with senior leadership to develop operational strategies, improve depot performance and protect regional profitability.
