Job summary

Fowler Welch, part of Culina Group, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead the on-site operations, drive KPI performance, and deliver value to the customer within a busy logistics environment in the UK. You will manage the operations team, control costs and ensure safe, compliant practices across the site.

The role requires extensive experience in national transport operations within FMCG, a proven track record of people leadership, and the ability to introduce new technology and route

Qualifications

• 5+ years in national transport operations management in logistics.
• 5+ years people management experience.
• 5+ years operations management in FMCG warehouse environments.
• Experience in temperature-controlled supply chains.
• Experience in cost reduction and margin improvement.
• Commercial and change management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead site operations to meet budget, KPI and contractual targets.
• Develop a safe, productive culture with SHEQ team involvement.
• Manage driver and warehouse headcount and shift patterns.
• Build strong customer relationships to deliver service requirements.
• Coordinate supplier relationships for consistent service.
• Analyze KPI data and report performance per agreements.
• Drive continuous improvement in efficiency and service.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and legal requirements.
• Monitor costs against budget and identify efficiency opportunities.
• Oversee fleet requirements and ensure proper equipment mix.
• Coordinate recruitment and training with other functions.
• Engage with landlord to align site operations.
