Job summary

Berwick Care is seeking an Operations Manager to lead day-to-day supply services, optimise procurement, inventory, and logistics, and drive cost-effective service delivery to care homes. You will manage supplier relationships, ensure regulatory compliance, and coach the operations team to deliver high standards.

The role requires 2+ years in leadership and procurement, strong financial awareness, and proficiency with IT and ERP systems.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership or management experience
• 2+ years of procurement experience and inventory control
• Understanding of accounting and finance principles
• Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office and stock/order management systems
• Knowledge of customer service principles and maintaining high service standards
• Experience negotiating with suppliers
• Eligible to work in the United Kingdom

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational activities across the business
• Ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered within timeframes
• Monitor workflows for efficiency and high service standards
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and service levels with suppliers
• Maintain stock records and manage inventory to avoid shortages/overstocking
• Oversee warehousing, picking, packing, and dispatch processes
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and quality standards
• Build strong relationships with care home clients and suppliers
• Track KPIs and drive continuous improvement
