Job summary

Mabey Hire is seeking an Operations Manager to lead Major Projects & Export from our Garswood location. The role involves directing operational delivery, planning, depot execution and international logistics to meet customer requirements.

You will coordinate across depots, transport teams and internal stakeholders, ensuring safety, efficiency and cost control on high-value projects. Strong leadership, planning and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in operational, logistics or project coordination roles.
• Experience leading multi-location major projects or export operations.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of operational delivery of Major Projects and Export activities.
• Lead and develop the Major Projects Hire Desk team with planning and coordination.
• Coordinate between customers, depots, transport and internal teams for seamless project execution.
• Oversee planning and allocation of materials, equipment and resources for complex projects.
• Align depot capability and capacity with project requirements with regional managers.
• Ensure export operations with customs, documentation and international logistics.
• Collaborate with freight forwarders and transport providers to deliver projects safely and on time.
• Drive transport and logistics efficiencies and control operational costs.
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Monitor project performance and seek improvements in delivery and planning.
