If you are an Operations Engineering Team Lead professional looking for an opportunity to grow your career, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you in Cumbernauld, Scotland. As part of our Gas Analysis business, you will lead the technical execution and production support capability within our manufacturing operation, ensuring the successful delivery of customer solutions while driving technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. In this role, you will provide leadership to a team of Operations Engineers, support complex technical challenges, and collaborate across global functions to deliver outstanding outcomes for customers.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Operations Engineers, supporting capability growth across hardware, measurement, and production support disciplines.
  • Allocate resources effectively based on business priorities, workload demands, and team capabilities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customer escalations, ensuring timely communication, prioritisation, and resolution of complex issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Technical Sales, Quality, Operations, Engineering, Customer Care, and global leadership teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Serve as the voice of the customer, advocating for customer needs while balancing operational objectives.
  • Lead technical support activities related to production builds, system configuration, testing, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Support the resolution of complex technical and performance challenges throughout project execution and manufacturing.
  • Provide post-sales technical support to customers and field service engineers.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and technical knowledge sharing.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable team environment that encourages innovation, open communication, and continuous learning.
  • Support compliance activities and ensure adherence to applicable trade compliance requirements within the scope of the role

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Experience leading technical support, production support, engineering, or execution-focused teams within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of measurement instrumentation and analytical technologies.
  • Experience supporting technical issue resolution, system testing, commissioning, or manufacturing operations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to manage priorities and risks effectively.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with customers, colleagues, and leadership teams.
  • Experience creating technical documentation, procedures, and support material.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Eligibility to work in accordance with applicable trade compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with gas analysis technologies, gas chromatography, gas analysers, laser analysers, or related process instrumentation.
  • Understanding of chemical processing, refining, natural gas, power generation, life sciences, food and beverage, or related industrial sectors.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical projects and managing customer-facing technical issues.
  • Familiarity with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), calibration, validation, and measurement performance requirements.
  • Demonstrated success driving continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing or engineering environments
