About Us

Launched in 2021 by a team of Emmy award winning innovators with previous experience in sports technology, Bolt6 is a start-up dedicated to improving the experience of sport for everyone. Our products help to improve fan engagement, officiating acceptance, and drive commercial performance for sports leagues and federations.

We use cutting-edge technology to do a variety of amazing things with cameras and other data sources (all in real-time in the cloud), including:

  • Tracking the 3D position of vehicles in elite motorsport (e.g. NASCAR);
  • Skeletal tracking of athletes in a number of top level sports;
  • Providing the platform for sports federations to make critical officiating decisions using video and other data.

Role Requirements

We are searching for motivated, driven and proactive individuals, who maintain incredibly high standards to deliver innovative solutions to sporting federations and broadcasters. The role will involve working closely with our customers and software engineering teams to deliver our products at sporting events around the world.

What you will do as an Operations Engineer at Bolt6

Operate our technology for the biggest sporting federations around the world. This will include:

  • Travelling to various destinations to deliver our products in-person, on-site;
  • Working remotely to support and deliver products that don’t require an on-site presence;
  • Leading on live testing with customers (e.g. data capture or offline tests at live sports events);
  • Investigate and interrogate our technology to find problems and edge cases that may cause the technology to fail in a live scenario;
  • Providing feedback and contributing to the development of improvements;
  • Be involved in the organisation and delivery of large-scale projects, including:
  • Assisting with kit design;
  • Testing and documenting new software;
  • Helping to build and test equipment;
  • Arranging kit and personnel movements to ensure all elements required for delivery are in the right place at the right time.
  • Assist with the development of new products, including:
    • Leading on live testing with customers (e.g. data capture or offline tests at live sports events);
    • Conceive and drive the development of custom software tooling that ensures efficient system operation.
What we are looking for

Required attributes:

  • Self starter with initiative and the ability to pick up and develop projects independently;
  • Ability to work quickly and make effective decisions;
  • Intellectually curious and has the drive to ask the right questions in order to get to the bottom of complex issues;
  • Individuals who are able to be flexible/are flexible in working arrangements;
  • Great interpersonal skills;
  • The ability to quickly grasp complex issues;
  • The ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines whilst remaining organised;
  • A degree in a STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) subject.

Nice to have:

  • A love of sport!
  • Project management experience/qualifications.

Location

Having started during the Covid-19 pandemic, the majority of us work remotely from home in the UK. We also have an office in London and Winchesterfor those who prefer being in the office.
