Job title: Operational Support Analyst - Control Point

Will the role be 100% remote, hybrid or 100% office? Onsite 5 days/week

The Role

The Control Point Operations Analyst will provide 24x7 operational support for Control Point Services, helping ensure the safe, compliant, and continuous operation of renewable and battery generation assets. The role involves receiving and acting on critical operational instructions from regulators, updating relevant applications, monitoring asset generation parameters, and ensuring timely communication with the appropriate operational teams. This position is critical to maintaining operational continuity and meeting grid operator requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Act as a single point of contact for operational alerts and service contacts received via phone, chat, portal, email and dedicated communication channels.
• Log all customer contacts, incidents and service requests accurately in the designated tool, taking ownership through to resolution or appropriate handover.
• Monitor operational communication channels, generation dashboards and application data on a 24x7 basis, in line with the agreed shift rotation.
• Receive, validate, record and act upon critical operational instructions from regulators and authorized stakeholders within defined timelines.
• Communicate operational instructions clearly and promptly to asset owners, operational teams and support functions.
• Monitor operational data across multiple applications, identify deviations, and escape incidents or risks in line with agreed procedures and SLAs.
• Support application access and operational administration activities, including application installation, password resets, data updates and configuration tasks.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, records, daily reports, shift handover documentation and status updates.
• Support emergency, business continuity and escalation processes when primary communication channels fail or complex/critical tickets are received.
• Follow documented operating procedures, work instructions and control room protocols to ensure consistent and compliant service delivery.
• Support incident coordination by providing accurate updates, timelines and operational evidence during investigations or service reviews.
• Contribute to operational reviews, audit readiness, knowledge article creation and continuous service improvement initiatives.
• Willingness to take on extra responsibility, as and when required

Key skills/knowledge/experience:

• Previous experience working in a NOC, Service Desk, Operations Centre, Control Room, utilities operations, power generation, or other critical operations environment.
• Strong interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to assess operational information accurately and respond appropriately.
• Ability to work effectively under time-critical conditions, prioritising actions and maintaining accuracy during high-pressure operational events.
• Clear and confident verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to share accurate operational updates with relevant teams.
• Willingness to work office-based rotational shifts, including weekends, as part of a 24x7 operational support model.
• Experience in utilities, energy generation, renewables, battery storage, or grid operations.
• Understanding of renewable energy and battery asset operations.
• Knowledge of operational resilience and business continuity processes.
• ITIL certification or awareness of IT service management practices.
• Ability to work with Excel, including macros, to support operational reporting and analysis.
• Basic understanding of the electricity wholesale domain.
