Operational Risk Manager

Location: London or Remote (UK)

Salary: £59,500 - £74,000 + Incentive Awards tied to your performance + benefits.

We are looking for an Operational Risk Manager to join Monzo’s growing Risk & Compliance team. In this second line of defence role, you will help roll out and embed the core elements of the risk management framework, focusing on operational resilience, financial processes, investment & wealth products, and regulatory projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and support the implementation and day‑to‑day management of the operational risk management framework.
• Provide oversight and challenge to the first line of defence, oversee and review change activity, investigate risk incidents, support risk assessments, and complete risk assurance activity.
• Support the implementation and operation of Monzo’s risk management framework, including embedding the risk and control self‑assessment process and second‑line oversight and monitoring.
• Partner with teams to help develop new products and features by embedding good risk practices, particularly in Finance and Wealth/Investment departments.
• Manage and follow up on risk events, partner with teams to find solutions and identify risks and controls.
• Conduct in-depth reviews of different areas of the business, their adoption and implementation of technology.
