Job summary

Wellcome Trust is seeking an Operational Risk and Controls Analyst to join the Risk team. You will embed a proactive risk management culture across first‑line and second‑line functions, design and monitor controls, and deliver clear reports for leadership.

You will act as a Protecht GRC system super-user, support RCSA processes, conduct control testing, and work with senior stakeholders to strengthen resilience while upholding Wellcome's inclusive values.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional qualification, recently or newly achieved.
• Experience in audit, risk, controls, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience of controls testing.
• Background in internal or external audit.
• Strong learning agility and adaptability to priorities.
• Interest in building a career in risk management, governance, and controls.

Responsibilities

• Embed proactive risk management culture across departments and ensure effective controls are designed and implemented.
• Act as a key user for Protecht GRC, supporting system administration and data quality.
• Document, monitor and report controls in line with the risk framework while building team capability.
• Deliver risk processes including RCSA and provide data-driven reports for leadership and governance.
• Conduct second-line control testing to assure control effectiveness and resilience.
• Collaborate with senior colleagues to advance enterprise risk management and governance.
