Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in Bank of Ireland UK's operational resilience programme, leading scenario testing across our important business services. Working across business and specialist teams, you will turn testing insights into practical improvements that strengthen our resilience and support our annual operational resilience self-assessment.,

  • Work with the Group Operational Resilience team to shape the testing strategy, select scenarios and develop the annual testing plan.
  • Maintain and develop our Scenario Testing Methodology and scenario library, ensuring a broad range of relevant disruption scenarios are considered.
  • Lead end-to-end testing of important business services, working with business teams and specialists across technology, cyber security, business continuity and other areas.
  • Assess testing outcomes, identify vulnerabilities and agree clear, measurable actions, using insights to support operational resilience governance and the annual self-assessment.
  • Support wider resilience, crisis and incident management activities, including lessons learned and participation in an out-of-hours on-call rotation when required., Bank of Ireland UK's operating model supports our UK strategy by bringing teams together and reducing silos. UK Operations covers areas including customer servicing, debt management, customer relations, operational resilience, technology and supplier governance.

The Operational Resilience team plays an important role in managing risks to the continuity of our services and supporting effective recovery from disruption. You will join a collaborative team working across the organisation to strengthen our resilience and help protect the services our customers rely on.

This is a hybrid role, based primarily at our London or Bristol office. We typically ask colleagues to spend a minimum of 8 days per month working in-person to support collaboration and connection. Specific arrangements will be confirmed by your recruiter to ensure they meet the needs of the role and team.

You will bring practical experience of operational resilience within a UK-regulated financial services organisation, with an understanding of the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) operational resilience framework. You have experience designing and delivering severe-but-plausible scenario testing for important business services and assessing results against impact tolerances. You can consider disruption across technology, cyber security, third parties, data, facilities and people to understand end-to-end service resilience. Strong analytical and communication skills will help you turn complex or incomplete evidence into clear conclusions, prioritised vulnerabilities and practical actions. You will also be comfortable facilitating exercises and building effective relationships with colleagues and partners across different areas and levels of an organisation.
